On Wednesday, February 13th, the seventh class of the Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame will be inducted.
We are excited to announce that Alice Dunnigan, Sue Grafton, Helen Thomas, and Jane Gentry Vance will join living inductees Ed McClanahan and Gurney Norman in the incomparable Hall of Fame.
Doors will open at 6:00 PM for the event, which is free to the public, and seating will be first come, first served. Some sections are reserved for families of those honored as well as previous inductees.
Mayor Linda Gorton will offer a welcoming, and Bianca Lynne Spriggs will return to Lexington to emcee the event alongside Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning Executive Director Neil Chethik.
We will have a special musical performance by members of The Wooks and a special reading of "Love Letta to de Worl'" by Frank X Walker.
Locally-owned Brier Books will be on site to sell books by the inducted authors, and a signing with Ed McClanahan and Gurney Norman will immediately follow the ceremony.
KET will, once again, record the event to broadcast at a later date.
Special thanks to the Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame Official Sponsor: Central Bank. Support also provided by LexArts, Kentucky Educational Television, and Kentucky Arts Council.
